On July 14^th and 15^th 2012, the 2012 annual council meeting of the China National Association for International Studies, with the theme of “China’s Overall Diplomacy: Retrospect and Prospect”, was held in Jilin University. Assistant Foreign Minister Le Yucheng and Ambassador Zhao Jinjun, Executive Deputy Chairman of China National Association for International Studies and President of CFAU, made a special trip from Beijing to attend the opening ceremony and the morning session on July 14^th of this meeting. The Party Secretary of Jilin University Chen Dewen attended and addressed the opening ceremony. In his speech, he talked about the changes and development of Jilin University in recent years, extended a warm welcome for the hosting of this meeting in Jilin University and expressed his hope for more exchanges and cooperation of greater depth between the Association with its member organizations and Jilin University. In the opening ceremony, Ambassador Zhao Jinjun delivered a speech on the current international situation and how to give play to the role of first-class think tanks. Assistant Foreign Minister Le Yucheng also gave a lecture on the current international landscape and China’s relations with its neighboring countries. Vice President of Jilin University Chen Gang met with representatives attending this meeting from other parts of the country. Deputy Chairman of China National Association for International Studies and Director of the Institute of International Studies under Jilin University Liu Debin hosted the opening ceremony.
