Center for Japanese Studies was set up at China Foreign Affairs University in 2008, when the 30th anniversary of the signing of China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. This center aims at enhancing overall strength in Japanese studies, relying on CFAU Japanese teachers and supported by other related colleagues.
Relative research and curricula at CFAU involve in Japanese politics, economics, diplomacy, society, history, law, thinking, language, literature and culture, especially in Japanese politics and diplomacy. As a platform, Center for Japanese Studies integrates these resources to highlight characteristic in diplomacy and advantage in foreign languages of our university, to enhance on-campus cooperation in teaching and research, and to promote exchanges of our teachers and postgraduate students with other universities and related research institutes.
In recent years, in order to become research-oriented university, CFAU made rapid development in regional and country studies, among which, Japanese studies played an important role. On the platform of this center, teachers can improve their teaching and research through academic lectures, speeches and symposiums, and students can strengthen application and practice of Japanese language through various activities.
The mission of CFAU Center for Japanese studies is to improve the teaching quality and research ability, and foster more outstanding talents in foreign exchanges, through diversified activities of academic communications, then eventually to enhance mutual trust and mutual benefits between China and Japan under new circumstances. In the process of improving, we look forward to strong support from relevant parties in the future.
