The National Interpretation Competition and Tenth Multilingual National Interpretation Competition of the Aeon Cup was held in Beijing International Studies University on 4th November 2017. It was jointly sponsored by the Translators Association of China and Beijing International Studies University. Fan Xiaoling, a postgraduate majoring in Japanese, participated in the competition on behalf of CFAU.

Fan Xiaoling won the online selection competition on 29th September 2017. She ranked fifteenth among all contestants and entered the consecutive interpreting rematch. At the competition on 4th November there were 99 competitors from more than 45 colleges and universities. The rematch was divided into two parts: translating foreign languages into Chinese and translating Chinese into foreign languages. Contestants were tasked with translating various subjects concerning politics, economics, science and so on. They were evaluated on the basis of several things, including the professional quality presented, valid skills applied and message conveyed. Following her impressive performance, Fan Xiaoling won the Excellence Award in the Japanese group.
