The Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity Holds a Discussion with a Moroccan Media Delegation

On the morning of July 20, a Moroccan media delegation visited the Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity and held a discussion. Ambassador Huang Yazhong and Counselor Bai Jie of the Research Center, Associate Research Fellow Li Fujian of the Institute of Asian Studies of CFAU, and He Gang, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the Research Center, among others, participated in the exchange.

Ambassador Huang Yazhong introduced China Foreign Affairs University and the Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity and reviewed the history of China-Morocco friendly exchanges. He said that the media is a bridge for exchanges between the two peoples, and that this visit is an important opportunity for the two sides to enhance mutual trust and deepen understanding. Ambassador Huang also introduced the vision and practice of building a community with a shared future for humanity, stressing that in the face of mounting global challenges, all countries should uphold true multilateralism, stand together and respond jointly, so that the fruits of cooperation better benefit the people of all countries.

In her remarks, Alami, head of the Moroccan delegation, said that over the past decade China-Morocco cooperation has continuously expanded into the economic, technological and cultural fields. This media tour aims to gain an in-depth understanding of contemporary China, the Chinese media and the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity. The media plays an increasingly important role in today's world, and she hoped the Moroccan journalists would present a more objective and comprehensive China to the public through field visits and exchanges.

Counselor Bai Jie said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Morocco strategic partnership, and that bilateral cooperation has formed an all-dimensional landscape. Connecting Africa, Europe and the Arab world, with a solid industrial base and great renewable energy potential, Morocco is an important partner for China's emerging industries in overseas cooperation. The two sides can make good use of the opportunities of the zero-tariff policy for Africa to deepen cooperation in new energy vehicles, power batteries, green hydrogen and the digital economy, and strengthen technical standards, talent cultivation, and cultural and tourism exchanges, jointly writing the next 'golden decade' of China-Morocco relations.

He Gang reviewed the history of friendly bilateral exchanges between China and Morocco, saying the two sides should carry forward their traditional friendship, deepen political mutual trust and advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. Li Fujian spoke on university think tanks and people-to-people exchanges, saying the two sides should strengthen academic exchanges and research result sharing and further deepen cooperation between universities and think tanks.

The discussion was conducted in a question-and-answer format. The Moroccan representatives raised questions and suggestions on facilitating personnel exchanges, cooperation between universities and research institutions, the implementation of the zero-tariff policy, the entry of Moroccan products into the Chinese market, the alignment of Morocco's 'Atlantic Initiative' with Belt and Road cooperation, and new energy cooperation, and exchanged views in depth with the Chinese side on relevant specific cases.

Both sides agreed that face-to-face exchanges play an irreplaceable role, and that the bridging role of the media, universities and think tanks should be further leveraged to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples and promote more practical outcomes in China-Morocco cooperation.
