Emerald Publishing recently announced the winners of the 2024 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence. Associate Professor Zhang Wenjia from the School of International Economics at the Diplomatic Academy was awarded the 2024 Emerald Outstanding Paper Award.

The paper "Trade war, media tone and market reaction asymmetry" co-authored by Zhang Wenjia (first author) and Du Julan (Associate Professor of Economics Department, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, second author) was officially published in May 2023 in the Journal of Chinese Economic and Foreign Trade Studies (China Economic and Foreign Trade Research), Volume 16, Issue 2, pages 153-171. Trade-intensive enterprises with the U.S. are generally more sensitive to official media reports; non-trade-intensive enterprises with the U.S. seem indifferent to news related to trade wars/trades frictions, but when the trade situation is unfavorable to China, they show...Concerns have emerged; the impact of the media tone will be more pronounced when the media reports on it repeatedly.
