On the morning of May 20, 2026, Zhou Li, full-time Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of our university, met with Karthik G. Iyer (a CFAU alumnus of the Class of 2013), Political Counselor of the Indian Embassy in China, and his delegation. Liu Lin, Director of the International Students Office of the Foreign Affairs Office, accompanied the meeting.

Zhou Li welcomed Iyer's return to his alma mater, introduced the University's talent cultivation achievements over more than 70 years — in particular the training of Indian diplomats in Chinese language at the University — and said that China actively supports India in hosting the BRICS Meeting of Directors of Diplomatic Academies and the BRICS Young Diplomats Forum in New Delhi, looking forward to the full success of the events, enhanced China-India friendship and deepened BRICS cooperation.

After the meeting, Zhou Li accompanied the guests on a visit to the Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity.
