In March 2022, the monograph "Research on Economic Cooperation Mechanisms in the Construction of the Belt and Road" was published by the School of International Economics. This book is the research outcome of the scientific innovation project "Research on Economic Cooperation Mechanisms in the Construction of the Belt and Road", which was led by Professor Jiang Ruiping and funded by the Central Universities Basic Research Business Fund. The project is a major university-level initiative primarily undertaken by faculty members of the School of International Economics.


The monograph, against the backdrop of the unprecedented changes in the world over the past century and the entry of socialism with Chinese characteristics into a new era, and guided by the latest theoretical achievements of the Sinicization of Marxism—Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era—it conducts an in-depth study on the economic cooperation mechanisms in the construction of the "Belt and Road". The main contents include: the great changes, the new era and the institutionalization of the "Belt and Road", the theoretical foundation for the construction of the "Belt and Road" economic cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" trade cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" investment cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" financial cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" energy cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" agricultural cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" connectivity cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the "Belt and Road" global development cooperation mechanisms, the evolution of the "Belt and Road" and the international economic and trade rule system, and the analysis of the impact of the enhancement of diplomatic relations on the trade along the "Belt and Road".
The School of International Economics attaches great importance to research in the field of economic diplomacy. It has published monographs such as "China Economic Diplomacy Series", "Case Studies of China Economic Diplomacy", and "The Current Status and Issues of Ports in Chinas New Round of Opening-up and the Belt and Road Initiative". From 2010 to 2016, it also published the "China Economic Diplomacy Annual Report" for several consecutive years.
"Research on the Economic Cooperation Mechanism in the Construction of the Belt and Road" is an important theoretical achievement of the School of International Economics in the field of economic diplomacy research, which is of great significance for exploring the high-level institutionalization of the Belt and Road.
