On the afternoon of April 29, faculty members of our Institute of Asian Studies and Department of Diplomacy held a dialogue with a visiting delegation of the Great Britain-China Centre (GBCC) at the University. Professor Yang Yue, Deputy Director of the Institute of Asian Studies, delivered welcome remarks, and Research Fellow Wu Lin chaired the meeting.
In the breakout sessions, the two sides held in-depth and productive dialogues on three frontier topics: 'geopolitical conflicts and crisis management,' 'global governance,' and 'artificial intelligence and technology.'
The 26-member visiting delegation organized by the Great Britain-China Centre included members from the British government, parliament, think tanks, universities, enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and the British Embassy in China. This exchange was the second dialogue held between our university and the GBCC, helping the University communicate the philosophy of major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics centered on building a community with a shared future for humanity, deepen institutionalized exchanges and cooperation with the GBCC, expand broad dialogue with people from British political, business, academic and research circles, and enhance mutual understanding and knowledge between the younger generations of China and the UK.
