On July 10, 2025, a delegation led by Ambassador Andrés Peláez, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, paid a visit to China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU). Ambassador Wang Shiting, Secretary of CPC Committee of CFAU, met with the guests, accompanied by Xie Yue, Vice Chancellor of China Diplomatic Academy (CDA) and Ma Xinyu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of CFAU.

Secretary Wang briefly introduced the organizational structures of CFAU and CDA, as well as the characteristics and practices in cultivating foreign affairs talents. Secretary-General Peláez noted that China is an important partner for Uruguay in foreign affairs and expressed the hope to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of education, especially in diplomat training. Secretary Wang pointed out that the bilateral relations between China and Uruguay have maintained steady development, and China is willing to expand exchanges and cooperation with Uruguay in education and diplomat training.

In their meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on specific matters regarding exchanges and cooperation under the framework of the cooperation agreement between foreign affairs universities of the two countries.
