CFAU Holds China-ASEAN Relations Round-table Seminar

A round-table seminar on China-ASEAN relations was held on June 1, 2017, at CFAU’s Zhanlanguan Road Campus. Experts and scholars attending the seminar included CFAU President Qin Yaqing, academicians Zhang Yunling and Yuan Zhengqing from the Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Brantly Womack from the University of Virginia, Professor Li Chenyang from Yunnan University, Associate Professor Li Mingjiang from Nanyang Technological University, and Professor Wei Ling, director of China’s Diplomatic Theory Research Center. The seminar was co-sponsored by China’s Diplomatic Theory Research Center and the editorial department of World Economy and Politics, which is affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Researcher Yuan Zhengqing presided over the meeting.


Experts reviewed and forecasted China-ASEAN relations from a regional perspective, considering ideas such as ASEAN Way, interconnection, central-local government relationships, safety management, and the balance of relationships. They also expressed their views on the challenges and opportunities in bilateral relations. Experts, teachers, and students exchanged perspectives on issues related to China-ASEAN relations. The round-table seminar was pragmatic, efficient, and well-received.
