On the 25th of October, 2016, foreign service counsellor to the president of Serbia, ambassador Ivan Mrkić, visited CFAU Shahe campus and gave a talk on international relations in the contemporary world.
President of CFAU Qin Yaqing and vice president Sun Jisheng welcomed ambassador Mrkić and a brief introduction to CFAU was given. Ambassador Mrkić expressed his gratitude and said it was a pleasure visiting CFAU. He hoped there would be more cooperation between the two parties in the future.
Hosted by vice president Sun, ambassador Mrkić’s talk included sections on international relations and situation of the contemporary world, the political situation in the Balkan area and relations between China and Serbia.
Q and A session held after the talk included questions raised by CFAU students ranging from visa exemption between China and Serbia, cooperation on sports, relations between Serbia, EU and Turkey and China’s OBOR policies.
Ambassador Mrkić served as Foreign Minister of Serbia from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 he served as foreign service counsellor to the president of Serbia.
