On November 8, 2025, at the invitation of the Faculty of Finance at City University of Macau, Professor Liu Naixi from the School of International Economics traveled to City University of Macau to participate in an economics and finance workshop. He delivered a paper presentation titled “Export Growth and Gender Education Equality in China.” The event was chaired by Professor Xu Wenli of City University of Macau.

Professor Liu Naixi first expressed gratitude for the invitation from the School of Finance at City University of Macau. During the lecture, he presented the team's research series to the conference audience. The study found that after China's accession to the World Trade Organization, export growth enhanced gender equality in education through improved income and welfare (direct income effect). Simultaneously, it exacerbated gender inequality in the medium-skill labor market, which paradoxically promoted gender equality in higher education (indirect substitution effect). He elaborated on the paper's mechanism analysis and heterogeneity analysis conclusions.

Following the lecture, Professor Liu Naixi provided a detailed introduction to the School of International Economics at the China Foreign Affairs University. He addressed questions regarding thesis research and engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty and students from the Faculty of Finance at City University of Macau on topics including research into China's economic growth, economics education at domestic and international universities, and economics research. A group photo session was held after the meeting.
