On December 24, 2025, Gao Fei, President of China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), met with Ambassador of India to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat and First Secretary Gautam Pandey, a 2018 alumnus of CFAU. Ma Xinyu, Director of the university’s Foreign Affairs Office, also attended the meeting.

President Gao welcomed Ambassador Rawat’s visit. The two sides exchanged views on the Chinese language training program for Indian Embassy diplomats, which resumed in September 2025, as well as future bilateral cooperation, China-India relations, and both nations’ foreign policies.

Ambassador Rawat joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1990. His previous appointments include Director of East Asia Division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Ambassador of India to Indonesia and Timor-Leste. He assumed his current post as Ambassador to China in 2022.
