On the morning of June 11, a discussion between the Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity and the Seminar for South American Political Party Leaders was held at China Foreign Affairs University. The discussion was chaired by Guo Yanjun, Research Fellow and Director of the Secretariat of the Research Center.
Professor Gao Fei, President of China Foreign Affairs University and Deputy Secretary-General of the Research Center, attended the discussion and delivered remarks. Gao Fei elaborated on President Xi Jinping's important exposition on the China-LAC community with a shared future and the 'five major programs,' pointing out that the China-LAC community with a shared future is an important part of building a community with a shared future for humanity, that the two sides have a solid foundation and huge potential for cooperation, and that building the China-LAC community with a shared future not only enhances the well-being of both peoples but also provides stability to a changing and turbulent world. Juan Manuel Lippo, a leader of Argentina's Justicialist Party, delivered remarks on behalf of the foreign side, saying that the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity resonates deeply with Latin American political traditions and that he looked forward to deepening Latin America-China cooperation and jointly building a more just society.
Seven Chinese experts spoke successively on topics including the responsibility of political parties, people-to-people exchanges, think tank cooperation, Latin American development, mutual learning among civilizations, Taoist thought and a community with a shared future for humanity, and the optimization of party-to-party engagement pathways. In the free exchange session, foreign representatives spoke and raised questions actively on topics such as sharing poverty reduction experience, technological transformation, sustainable development cooperation and social media governance, in a warm and candid atmosphere.
This discussion was a positive exploration by the Research Center for a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity in serving political party diplomacy and promoting mutual learning between Chinese and Latin American civilizations, consolidating consensus and enhancing friendship for building a China-Latin America community with a shared future.
