On September 3, 2026, President Gao Fei met with Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, and his delegation. Ma Xinyu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, and others were present at the meeting.

President Gao Fei welcomed Ambassador Khalil's visit to the University and briefly introduced its educational situation. The two sides reached consensus on implementing the updated cooperation memorandum between the two countries' diplomatic academies signed during the meeting between the two prime ministers, communicated on ideas and arrangements for the training of young Pakistani diplomats in China, and agreed to further strengthen cooperation and jointly advance the in-depth and substantive development of exchanges between young Chinese and Pakistani diplomats.

Ambassador Khalil joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan in 1994 and previously served as Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva and to the Conference on Disarmament. He has served as Pakistan's Ambassador to China since 2023.
