On June 4, 2025, Rogelio Sierra Díaz, Rector of Raúl Roa García Higher Institute of International Relations of Cuba paid a visit to China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), accompanied by Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China. President Wang Fan met with the guests. Ma Xinyu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of CFAU, Wang Yumeng, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of CFAU, also attended the meeting.

President Wang introduced the history and mission of CFAU, as well as its achievements and experience in cultivating foreign affairs personnel. He noted that the current international situation is marked by profound changes and instability, and that it is of great significance for China and Cuba to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation and contribute to a China-LAC community with a shared future. Rector Rogelio Sierra Díaz extended congratulations on the 70th anniversary of CFAU, expressing the hope that the two sides could take the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba and the China-CELAC Forum as opportunities to further expand exchanges and cooperation. The two sides also held in-depth discussions on cooperation in academic outputs and research projects.

Following the meeting, President Wang and Rector Sierra Díaz signed a memorandum of understanding on Cooperation.
