China National Association for International Studies

The China National Association for International Studies (CNAIS) was founded in 1980 and is an important nationwide academic group and national association, playing an important role in promoting the development of international relations studies in China. Its objectives are academic exchanges, theoretical research and consulting.

CNAIS brings together first-class experts and scholars from nationwide universities and research institutions who engage in the research and teaching of international relations. The association and its secretariat are located at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU). The annual convention is an important meeting of scholars in the field of international relations, serving as a platform for academic exchange.

As the research of international relations in China enters a new period of development, CNAIS expects to strengthen cooperation and professional research, build a new platform for the exchange of ideas and promote mutual understanding between related academic institutions, experts and scholars all over the world.

CNAIS integrates the nation’s academic forces, attracting dozens of famous universities offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in international relations, international politics and diplomacy, as well as major research institutions. Members include Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, China Foreign Affairs University, National Defense University PLA China, other famous universities in China, the Department of Policy Research in the Central Foreign Affairs Office, Department of Policy Planning in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the China Institute of International Studies, the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Shanghai Institute for International Studies and other important research institutes in China.
