Сenter for Russian Studies of China Foreign Affairs University Introduction

Center for Russian Studies of China Foreign Affairs University was founded on February 24th 1994, which mainly engages in Russian studies and teaching activities. The present dean of the Center is associate professor Tan Ji jun from the Institute of International Relations.

The main scope of the center includes: Russia, the Commonwealth of the Independent States (CIS), central and Eastern Europe,and the studies focused on Russian transformation, Russian foreign policy, Russian diplomatic history, relations between CIS countries and so on.


Researchers:

Lin Jun: doctor/professor/doctoral supervisor. Representative works: The Sino-Soviet Relations 1968-1989, The Sino-Soviet Diplomatic Relations 1917-1927, Russian Diplomatic History and so on.

Yang Chuang: professor/doctoral supervisor. Representative works: A Century of China -Russia Relations,An Outline History of the Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (co-authored), Modern International Relations and so on.

Gao Fei: doctor/professor/doctoral supervisor, current assistant to the dean of the China Foreign Affairs University. Representative works: Chinese Diplomats and the Reform and Opening-up (co-authored), Gentlemanly Diplomacy in a Harmonious World (editor-in-chief), On Diplomacy (co-authored),Transformation of Political Culture and its Impact on the Evolution of the Sino-Russian Relations(treatise)and so on.

Tan Ji jun: doctor/associate professor/master student supervisor, current dean of the Center. Representative works: An outline History of the Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union(co-authored), Special Immigration Policy of the Soviet Union in the Period of “The Great Transformation”, New Century Russian Diplomatic Video Course and so on.

Liu Ying: doctor/instructor/Representative works: Mr. Putin's State Theory and Russian Transformation and so on.


Courses &Activities

The Center’s researchers have participated in many research projects from national ministries and commissions and colleges. They have published many academic books and teaching materials, such as The Sino-Soviet Relations 1968-1989,The Sino-Soviet Diplomatic Relations 1917-1927,Russian Diplomatic History,A Century of China -Russia Relations,An Outline History of the Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union(co-authored), Transformation of Political Culture and its Impact on the Evolution of the Sino-Russian Relations, New Century Russian Diplomatic Video Course, Mr. Putin's State Theory and Russian Transformation and so on.

The Center also offered many courses for undergraduates, master students and  doctoral students from China Foreign Affairs University, such as Soviet Russia diplomatic studies,Contemporary Russian diplomacy,Russia's contemporary politics,The China-CIS relations studies,Eastern Europe studies and so on.

The Center has established good academic ties with the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Russian University of International Relations and a number of institutions. The two sides have been conducting academic communications on a regular basis to train students and researchers.
