The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from September 4th to 9th. Since August 20th, 39 students from CFAU began volunteering to serve in CIFTIS. The student volunteers demonstrated ardent patriotism and enthusiasm for service as well as a high sense of responsibility and competence in guest guidance, contact and coordination, translation assistance, news propaganda, logistics guarantee, and other posts. They devoted about 3000 service hours, once again upholding the most precious “golden card” of Beijing and preserving the exemplary image of the capital’s volunteers.
In recent years, students of our school have successively participated in many volunteer service activities such as the G20 meeting, APEC Leaders' Week, G20 Sherpa Meeting, the Belt and Road Summit Forum, and several other major domestic diplomatic volunteer services. Through these activities, students carry out the socialist core values, demonstrate responsibility, and implement their professional knowledge to serve China's diplomacy at home, which shows the excellent quality and elegant demeanor of our students. Students have consistently been highly recognized and praised by the public. Through participating in various volunteer service activities, the students have further enhanced their patriotism and their sense of social responsibility. What’s more, volunteer service tests what students have learned in the classroom and lays a solid foundation for their growth as outstanding diplomatic and foreign affairs talents of China.
