CFAU Delegate Wins Diplomacy Award at LIMUN 2018

 

The 19th London International Model United Nations (LIMUN 2018) was held at Imperial College London from 23rd- 25th February 2018. Chen Leou, a sophomore from the Department of English and International Studies and member of the Model United Nations (CFAUMUN) at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), won the Diplomacy Award. It is the second time that the highest honor of the LIMUN has been awarded to a delegate from CFAU.

The LIMUN is the largest of its kind in Europe and also one of the most renowned in the world. At the opening ceremony of the LIMUN 2018, Srgjan Kerim, President of the 62nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, and Stephen O'Brien, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, were invited to address the conference. Comprising 33 committees and 100 dais members, the LIMUN 2018 attracted over 1800 delegates from around the globe.

During the conference, Chen Leou attended the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) session as the delegate of the Philippines. Following these two days of intense discussion and negotiation, the organizing committee presented Chen Leou with the Diplomacy Award, the highest honor of the conference.
