Biographical Statement

    WU Lin completed her Ph.D. at the Fudan University on international politics. Her main research interests lie in Chinese diplomacy, regional governance and South Asian issues. Her current research focuses on issues related to societal security and regional governance on migration in East Asia, and also non-governmental organization studies. She just published a book titled The Dynamics and Mechanisms of China’s Regional Policy after the Cold War, trying to advance a systematic interpretation on dynamics and mechanisms of differential developments of China’s regional policy. The book argues that different features and tendencies of domestic alliances and regional autonomy are the key factors leading to differential developments of China’s regional policy after the cold war.

    WU Lin is a member of Network of East Asian Think Tanks (NEAT) since 2011, through engaging in the working group discussions and examining on issues related to regional cooperation and global governance. By submitting reports approved in working group meetings to the 10+3 ministers’ and leaders’ meeting, the ideas on track-2 contributes to policy consensus on track-1. Besides that, she also engaged in Network of ASEAN-China Think Tanks (NACT) and Network of China-Japan-ROK Think Tanks, advancing common knowledge on China-ASEAN cooperation and trilateral cooperation among China, Japan and ROK. In the field of South Asian Cooperation, she has organized training programmes for diplomats of SAARC countries in 2012 and 2013 supervised by China’s ministry of foreign affairs, and participated in dialogues and exchanges with scholars and institutions in India and other South Asian countries.
