Program overview

Since 2007, after the university began to offer MA programs in Politics (now also offer Ph.D. programs in Politics), the MA in Scientific Socialism and International Communist Movement has been established in the department of Basic Education. Based on the faculty and courses of the section of Marxism, the research directions focus on the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and Political Party Politics and Diplomacy 

Aims

The program aims to cultivate high leve l professionals in Scientific Socialism and International Communist Movement, who is  capable of teaching and researching in higher education or working for the Party or the government, by studying Marxism, Scientific Socialism, Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Theory of Socialism and Communism, History of Communist Movement, and Political Party Politics and Diplomacy in a systematical way, improve their foreign language skills and promote their all-round development. 

Program duration

The program is taken full-time over two years (four semesters). The first three semesters, students are required to take certain courses. In the third semester, students may start  work on the dissertation, according to their supervisors' requirement. In the fourth semester, students should finish the dissertation and give an oral presentation
