Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen Visited CFAU


On the afternoon of June 27th 2019, Professor Karl Harald Søvig, the dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen (UiB), visited the Department of International Law at China Foreign Affairs University. Professor Søvig was met by the dean of the Department of International Law, Professor Xu Junke; Deputy Dean Zhang Hua; Associate Professor Zhang Chunyan; and Teaching Secretary Li Mengxi.

The University of Bergen is a public school in the Kingdom of Norway, and is one of the most popular universities in Northern Europe. The law department at UiB is of the highest recognition and academic influence in the world. CFAU has enjoyed cooperation with UiB since September 2012, engaging in academic, research and student exchange. So far, 27 undergraduate students of the Department of International Law at CFAU have been to UiB for exchange study.

Professor Xu Junke extended a warm welcome to Professor Karl Harald Søvig and introduced him to CFAU and the Department of International Law. Professor Søvig expressed his gratitude for having this opportunity to visit CFAU and conveyed his hope that the two sides could strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and expand collaboration in academic, student and faculty exchanges and legal personnel training.

Professor Karl Harald Søvig’s visit has enhanced mutual understanding, which is beneficial to international exchange and cooperation, as well as to the cultivation of excellent legal talents at the Department of International Law.
