From March 3rd to 8th, 2019, a delegation of two professors and nine undergraduate students from Al Akhawayn University of Morocco headed by Dr. Zaynab El Bernouss visited CFAU for academic exchanges. Al Akhawayn University enjoys a high reputation in the African academic community. Professor Sun Jisheng, vice president of CFAU, received the delegation and extended a warm welcome to the Moroccan professors and students.

On March 4th, Dr. Bernouss and Dr. Eric Stanley Ross gave two lectures to the students from the Department of English and International Studies (DEIS), respectively entitled "DNA Testing and Islamic Law: A Case Study of Moroccan Bioethics " and "A Survey of Senegalese Immigrants in West Europe and North America" on Shahe campus. The two professors had a good interaction with the audience.

After the lectures, the faculty members from DEIS had further talks with the visiting guests on the cooperation between the two universities, and a consensus was reached to improve the good relationship between the two sides. The meeting was presided over by Professor Shi Yi, Dean of the Department of English and International Studies at CFAU. 

The nine students from Al Akhawayn University had an intensive discussion with their DEIS counterparts. They shared their own experiences about studying and living in different countries. Afterwards, the students from Al Akhawayn University had a campus tour accompanied by the host students.

On March 5th, invited by Excellency Mekouar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in China, the Moroccan guests visited the Embassy. Ambassador Mekouar welcomed the Moroccan professors and students to China, and expressed his expectation for further cooperation between Al Akhawayn University and CFAU. 

On March 6th, the Al Akhawayn University delegation visited the Department of Foreign Languages and International Studies at CFAU, where Dr. Bernouss gave a lecture in French themed “My Motherland Morocco”. 

In addition to academic exchanges, the delegation also had a tour of Beijing to have a deeper experience of the Chinese culture and life. Before leaving for home, the delegation expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the hospitality of CFAU.
