In the 2018 Test for English Majors-Band 4 (TEM4), the average score of the English majors and non-English majors at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) is 79, 13 points higher than the national average of foreign language universities and colleges in China. Over the years, the average score of CFAU students in TEM4 has been higher than the national average by over 10 points (see figure below). This shows that the English proficiency of CFAU students is significantly better than the national average.
The average score of the first Class for Diplomatic Translation and Interpreting (Class 2016214) in the Department of English and International Studies (DEIS) is 85, 19 points higher than the national average of foreign language universities and colleges in China. Of the 22 students in this class, 19 score Excellent (above 80 points) and 3 score Good (70-79 points). In addition, of the 153 students who took the test, 4 earn the highest score of 92 points, and 3 of them are from the Class for Diplomatic Translation and Interpreting.
