Recently, Chen Weixian and Hu Qihua from Class 1998 donated 100,000 RMB to set up the "Bai Lan Scholarship" at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU). The scholarship is to help students from families with financial difficulties to complete their studies and to encourage CFAU students to study hard and strive for improvement. They are expected to become all-round talents in English, diplomacy and foreign affairs who are patriotic and also enthusiastic about public good. “Bai Lan” is short for “Baiwanzhuang Road” and “Zhanlanguan Road” in Xicheng District, Beijing, where the downtown campus of CFAU is located. The name is embedded with the wish that CFAU students will cherish their time in school and be grateful to their alma mater, and that students will read extensively, make achievements and realize their ideals.

 “Bai Lan Scholarship" is open to registered undergraduate students of the Department of English and International Studies in CFAU who have financial difficulties but are outstanding in personal merits and academic study.
