CFAU 2019 Inauguration Ceremony for Students and the Celebration of Teachers’ Day

On 10th September 2019, as the 70th birthday of New China was approaching, the 2019 inauguration ceremony for students and the celebration of Teachers’ Day was held at the auditorium of the Shahe Campus, under the theme of “growing up with the P.R.C. and striving for a new era.” Le Yucheng, vice minister of the Foreign Ministry of the P.R.C, attended the convention and delivered a speech. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Qi Dayu, secretary of the Party Committee of CFAU.

Vice Minister Le summarized China’s great achievements during the 70 years since its establishment. Chinese diplomacy has had a unique journey, and China's major-country diplomacy in the new era is embracing more talents. Vice Minister Le also encouraged CFAU‘s further development and urged the school to base itself upon diplomacy, to serve diplomacy, to highlight its diplomatic characteristic and enhance its theoretical innovation. Vice Minister Le encouraged the students of CFAU to aim for the highest, strengthen their faith, study hard, undergo strenuous training and devote themselves to China's major-country diplomacy.

Professor Xu Jian, president of CFAU, delivered a speech on behalf of the university, extending gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its constant guidence and support. He said that CFAU would endeavor to build a first-class university. He also summarized the achievements of CFAU in serving China's major-country diplomacy and set the priorities for this year. He encouraged the students to hold fast to their dreams, carry forward the fighting spirit, study hard and engage in practice, and take on the mission of China's national rejuvenation.


Ambassador Qi concluded that under the leadership of the Party Committee of the Foreign Ministry, CFAU should promote the spirit of loyalty and dedication, which has been inherited by generations of diplomats, and shoulder the responsibility of national rejuvenation. He emphasized that CFAU should live up to and enrich its reputation as the “cradle of Chinese diplomats” through enthusiasm and outstanding performance.


Speeches were also given by Pan Haoyu from the department of international law, representatives for teachers, Li Ziyan from the department of foreign languages and international studies, and representatives for students. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the meeting.
