CFAU Department of International Law Holds the Third "International Law Youth Forum"

On 22nd June 2018, the Department of International Law at CFAU and the Institute of International Law held the third "International Law Youth Forum" in Room 213, the main building of the Zhanlan Road Campus. More than 30 participants attended the forum, including young scholars, teachers and students from institutions of higher learning, research institutions and practical departments, such as China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing Normal University, Jilin University, China Foreign Affairs University, Institute of International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, International Committee of the Red Cross. Professor Xu Junke, director of the Department of International Law, attended the meeting and delivered an opening speech.

This forum included two topics. One was the issue of "refugees and immigrants". This part was presided over by Dr. Yan Wenjun, a lecturer in the Department of International Law. Keynote speeches were delivered by Massyli, a legal counsel from the ICRC's East Asia Office, Dr. Zhang Tong from the School of International Law of CUPL, Dr. Shen Tianjiao from the School of Law of Jilin University, and Han Rong, a graduate student from Beijing Normal University. It was reviewed by Director Qu Bo from the Institute of International Relations of CFAU. The other is the issue of "the righteousness and benefit of international trade conflicts". The second part was presided over by Dr. Yang Yun, a lecturer in the Department of International Law. Keynote speeches were given by Fu Panfeng, an assistant researcher at the Institute of International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhang Chunyan, a lecturer in the International Law Department of CFAU, Dr. Zhou Heng and Dr. Li Xiansen from the School of Law of RUC, and Dr. Sun Shu from CFAU. It was reviewed by Associate Professor Zhang Hua from the Department of International Law of CFAU.


Young scholars expressed their opinions on the topics of the forum and carried out a profound discussion. The atmosphere of the meeting was free and relaxed, and the exchange of ideas was sharp and enthusiastic. The "International Law Youth Forum" focuses on current events, providing a platform for young scholars to exchange with each other.
